From September 1 2006, to be eligible for membership a female golfer must:
(a) Have reached her eighteenth birthday
(b) Be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand;
(c) Hold a Golf Australia women’s handicap or New Zealand Golf women’s handicap of 0.4 (scratch) or less;
or
Equivalent handicap verification by a recognised amateur body (eg. USGA/LGU)
or
Full playing member status of another recognised Tour (eg. LPGA, JLPGA, LET, KLPGA, Duramed Futures Tour.)
(d) Be nominated by 2 (two) full members of ALPG;
(e) Make payment of the joining fee *($550.00) and annual membership subscription *($352.00) in place at the time of application

Any female accepted by the PGA of Australia as a trainee professional whose WGA handicap at the time of turning professional, meets the ALPG criteria in force at the time, may apply for membership.
PGA of Australia female trainee professionals in possession of a letter of recommendation from the PGA Academy may be admitted as probationary members of the ALPG. Those who are so admitted will remain probationary members of the ALPG until such time as they have been granted full membership of the PGA of Australia, or the PGA withdraws its letter of recommendation. On being granted full membership of the PGA of Australia they may apply to be transferred from probationary to full membership of the ALPG.
